Betadine is povidone-iodine, an antiseptic microbicide that can be used for wound cleaning and disinfecting. Provides the benefits of iodine without the drawbacks. Causes little pain or irritation to skin, wounds or membranes. Will not stain skin, hair or natural fabrics. Use full strength as an antiseptic before surgery and on superficial lacerations, abrasions and minor burns
It kills bacteria, fungi, viruses, and other infection-causing pathogens from. Betadine solution standardized is used for disinfection of the skin and mucosa, minor wounds, skin abrasions and small-scale degree burns (minor burns).
What else should be considered?
Large-scale, severe burns, and very dirty, deep wounds and bite - and stab wounds require medical treatment (risk of lockjaw).
If the extent of the wound for some time unchanged large or healed the wound is not within 10-14 days, a doctor's visit is also required, as well as the edges of the wound are very red, the wound suddenly swells, strong painful or breach of fever is accompanied (danger of blood poisoning).
Application
Minor injuries and damage to the skin, minor burns
drip on or dab gently with a moist gauze directly from the bottle onto the area to be treated. Allow to dry. If the applied Betadine discolored, repeat treatment.
