- Frontline flea and tick products protect against Lyme Disease!
Long-lasting, fast acting flea and tick control you apply on the skin monthly. Frontline contains fipronil, a flea adulticide. Fipronil works by affecting the parasite's (the flea's or tick's) nervous system causing paralysis and death of the parasite. Fipronil spreads over the pet's body with the body oils killing 98-100% of the fleas or ticks within 24-48 hours, and controlling transmission of tick-borne disease, such as Lyme disease.
Fipronil collects in the oils of the skin and hair follicles and then is released over time (up to 1 month) from the hair follicles onto the skin and hair.
Frontline stays on even with bathing, swimming, or exposure to sunlight
Easy to apply; simply part hair and apply directly to skin.
Safe for use on dogs and puppies over eight weeks old
Packing with 3 or 6 pipettes
Select the correct size pipette for the weight of the animal. It is recommended to weigh the pet.
Hold the pipette upright. Tap the narrow neck of the pipette to ensure the contents are in the main body. Then, break the snap-off top of the pipette along the scored lines. Part the coat between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible.
Place the tip of the pipette on the skin and squeeze gently to empty its contents onto the skin, at one or two spots where the animal cannot lick it off.
For Pets, one at the base of the skull and a second 2-3cm further back is advisable.
Care should be taken to avoid excessive wetting of the hair with the product since this will cause a sticky appearance at the application site. This will disappear within 24 hours of application.
It is important to apply frontline to an area where the animal cannot lick off and to make sure that animals do not lick each other after treatment. If licking does occur, a brief period of hyper salivation may be observed, due mainly to the nature of the carrier. Ensure that treated animals do not groom each other after treatment until dry.
Animals may be handled as soon as the application site's dry.
How often do I apply it?
The minimum treatment interval is 4 weeks.
Bathing or water immersion of dogs 48 hours after application will not stop FRONTLINE Spot On working effectively. Apply at 6 weekly intervals if the pet is shampooed weekly with a chlorhexidine-based shampoo and 5 weekly if emolient shampoos are used.
