Drontal Puppy Suspension is a deworming fluid for puppies and young dogs it is immediately effective with a single treatment

Puppies can become seriously ill from worms, and in a severe infestation this can even be fatal. Puppies can become infected with worms in the womb and then also through their mother's milk. It is therefore important to worm both the mother and the puppy early and regularly.

Suitable for

Puppies and young dogs.

Treatment of infestations with the following roundworms:

• Roundworms: Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina.
• Hookworms: Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma.

Not suitable for adult dogs.

Administration and  Dosage

Consult your vet before use.

Read the instructions before use.

Administer orally. This can be done via the dosing syringe or by mixing the liquid with the normal feed. Shake before use.

Duration of treatment: The administration is done once per treatment.

Deworm puppies at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks of age. Then every 2 months until they are six months old.

Dosage: 1 ml Drontal Pup per kg body weight.

This corresponds to 15 mg febantel and 14.4 mg pyrantel embonate per kg body weight.

Shelf life and storage advice

Keep dry and cool.

After opening the container, the product should be used within 10 weeks.

Composition and operation

Ingredients: Pyrantel embonate 14.4 mg/ml, febantel 15 mg/ml, sodium propionate, sodium benzoate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sorbitan monooleate, polyvidone, polysorbate 80, sodium docusate, bentonite, anhydrous citric acid, cochineal red A (E124), xanthan gum, propylene glycol, purified water .

Features: Drontal Pup is a roundworm remedy with the active ingredients tetrahydropyrimidine derivative pyrantel (as embonate salt) and probenzimidazole febantel. In this established combination of active substances, pyrantel embonate and febantel show a synergistic effect against all relevant nematode species (roundworms, hookworms and whipworms) in puppies and young dogs. The spectrum of activity includes in particular Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma caninum and Trichuris vulpis. Pyrantel exerts a nicotinic action as a cholinergic agonist. It leads to spastic paralysis of the nematodes through a depolarizing neuromuscular blockade. The anthelmintic activity of febantel is based on the inhibition of tubulin polymerization into microtubules. The resulting structural and functional disturbances of the parasite's metabolism lead to the depletion of the energy reserve and thus to the death of the parasite after 2 to 3 days.
